RC-12 Wireless Mini Cam
April 30, 2008
The RC-12 Wireless Mini Cam from RF System Lab isn’t only little and has a maximum working range of up to 30 meters, it can even shoot images underwater with the help of a waterproof case, even though I wouldn’t think that there would be anyone performing underwater trysts anytime which makes for newsworthy material. After all, if you’re going to explore underwater photography, why not settle for a standard point-and-shoot with a waterproof case? This will be much superior suited for on-land use… Continue reading
Microsoft Messenger for Mac 7
April 30, 2008
The kind folks at the Mac BU dropped me a note announcing Messenger for Mac 7’s availability. The big ticket item is full Audio/Visual conferencing support between Messenger on the Mac and on the Computer. Sadly, this is only available for corporate accounts, so if you have a personal account you’ll need to wait a tiny longer for that feature. Personal users, though, aren’t entirely left out in the cold. You can now assign nicknames to contacts, search your contacts, and chat with people on your… Continue reading
Leopard’s Preview “a superstar”
April 30, 2008
Preview, says Bob Levitus (chron.com) has “always been a gem. But in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, it’s turned into a real powerhouse with many new and useful features.” For example, Preview’s “Mark Up icon provides a drop-down menu with highlighting, strike-through and underlining tools, all fantastic for editing text. “ And, Levitus points out, you’ll find tools for annotating PDFs, reordering pages in a PDF, and several other new and highly useful features. Guardium Keeps the Peace
April 30, 2008
The Guardium is an unmanned ground vehicle commissioned by the Israeli military, making it a robotic soldier that holds the honor of being the first in the world to be operational. Meant to take over the role of soldiers in dangerous situations, the Guardium will definitely have no fear factor unlike ordinary humans, but I wonder whether it is able to be as flexible as a real soldier on the battlefield. This four-wheeler can be operated from a command room and mounted with various accessories such… Continue reading
The “missing” iPhone ringtone
April 30, 2008
We’ve all seen the iPhone ads. As my wife states, “I get it! The iPhone is for sale! I GET IT!“
Like I said, we’ve all seen them.
None are identical, but most have something in common. Namely, that peculiar ringtone. We call it peculiar because it isn’t actually included with the iPhone. Luckily, most of us have it installed on our personal already.
As LifeClever points out, those with iLife ‘08 installed can find the ringtone in

Have fun with iPod Building Block speakers
April 30, 2008
This is fun. iPod Building Block speakers from Perpetual Kid snap into your iPod’s connector port and resemble a certain brand of construction blocks that we all know.
Available in five colors, the tiny speakers pull power from your iPod (they won’t work with iPhones, unfortunately) and look cool doing it. Our only complaint is that there isn’t a model designed to sit flush on an old-school iPod nano. Don’t expect theatre-quality sound, of course, but they should spark some conversation. They’re $24.95US… Continue reading
Ticketime Boarding Card Concept
April 29, 2008
Ticketing has just taken on a new dimension with the Ticketime concept, bringing together a boarding card and a wristwatch in a single device. The fringe of the ticket is constructed from electronic paper which can be torn off and worn as a wristwatch whenever you travel. Just before you depart, the airline company will be so kind as to set the watch to the time zone of your destination, although I wonder whether no-frills airlines will follow that policy or not. On the other hand… Continue reading

Custom “Stealth iPhone” from ColorWare
April 29, 2008
If you’re willing to go the extra mile (and paycheck) to customize your gadgets, but you’re not a massive fan of the flashy ColorWare colors that we’ve covered before, the new custom edition matte black iPhone (Stealth iPhone) might be the ticket.
ColorWare has been making drastic hue adjustments on iPhones for a while and recently announced that their color-customizing services were available for the MacBook Air. While they’ve offered a gloss black before, the new “stealth” iPhone’s matte… Continue reading
